Trident Systems
Incorporated is a veteran-owned small business founded
in 1985 with one purpose in mind: to deliver innovative
and affordable technology solutions for critical
government and commercial needs. Twenty-six years later,
Trident continues to harness technology and provide
leading-edge solutions to every Military Service, the
Intelligence Community, and a broad spectrum of
government and industry partners.
1980’s
Systems engineering was an early core competency at
Trident and our systems engineers have been involved in
many large complex systems development programs
beginning in the late ‘80s with the AN/BSY-2, the Navy’s
first digital submarine combat system featuring fully
integrated sonar and combat control functions. Early on,
Trident became an active participant in the DoD Small
Business Innovation Program winning its’ first SBIR
competitive award in 1989 and transitioning numerous
innovative solutions to DoD programs as well as
commercialization of products for sale.
1990’s
In the 90’s Trident was a key participant in the Office
of Naval Research Engineering of Complex Systems
Technology Block which led ultimately to Trident systems
engineers leading the development of an important data
standard for Complex Systems Engineering, ANSI/GEIA 927.
2000’s
By the beginning of the 21st century, Trident had begun
development of two new competencies through the SBIR
program. The first was design and development of
advanced miniature radio frequency electronic systems
including miniature high performance radars for small
UAVs, unattended ground sensor nodes (UGSN) for tactical
mesh networks, force protection electro-optic solutions
for day/night situation awareness and wearable
technologies such as the wrist-mounted Displays that
support applications including threat warning,
situational tracking, streaming video, secure messaging
and more. Trident's in-house electronic design
capabilities, software engineering expertise, and proven
network of manufacturing partners have enabled us to
deliver a broad range of innovative and affordable
technology solutions to meet our customer’s unique
needs. The second core competency developed under the
SBIR program was software development for Information
Assurance, which included a family of innovative cross
domain collaboration solutions beginning with chat rooms
which can span networks of differing security
classifications and extending to Voice-over IP (VoIP)
and video conferencing across stove piped security
enclaves. Trident’s cross domain chat product was the
first standards based, NSA certified chat solution and
has been deployed across multiple US combatant commands.
Present Day
Today, Trident engineers and scientists are engaged in
three key areas providing affordable products and
services: Integrated C4I systems, Radar Systems, and
Assured Collaboration Systems. Trident also provides an
array of services from Systems Engineering support for
complex system development to the maintenance and
support of the Integrated Air Defense System in the
National Capital Region. We are proud of our track
record and invite you to contact us to learn how we can
provide innovative affordable technology solution to
help fulfill your mission.
