Radar Systems (RS)
Radar Systems (RS) is Trident’s business area
dedicated to the research, development, design and
manufacture of advanced radar technologies and systems
to support civil and defense government intelligence,
surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission needs. |
 |
|
With both US and international civil and government
customers RS is developing its RAPTOR (Reconfigurable,
Adaptive, Programmable, Tactical, Open, Radar)
architecture as a scalable radar product line to address
emerging ground, airborne, and space applications
seeking to leverage low cost open architecture radar
solutions. RAPTOR’s capabilities include fully
interleaved multi-band ground/air moving target
detection and tracking as well as high resolution and
scene change detection imagery modes of operation.
To support RAPTOR, Trident provides a complete range of
simulation/modeling tools, engineering field support,
and data collection and analysis staff. Please

PRODUCTS
microRAPTOR (Reconfigurable Adaptive Programmable
Tactical Open Radar) is a small, lightweight, open
architecture, software-defined radar system designed
specifically for Group 3 UAS to support the warfighter
with Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) data and high
resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery for
identifying and tracking vehicles and dismounts. The microRAPTOR’s wide area search GMTI capability greatly
enhances airborne video systems by providing a rapid
“slew to cue” message stream to point optical systems
(with or without human in-the-loop) and can increase
area coverage by more than 70 times over stand-alone
optical systems. |

microRAPTOR’s multi-band
implementations covers wide areas and generates
real-time GMTI detections and SAR images. GMTI detection
data is provided in STANAG 4607 format. SAR Images can
be produced in either strip map and spotlight modes with
both high and low resolution modes and support the
latest GMTI and coherent change detection algorithms.
SAR images can be generated in visually obscured
environments caused by weather or blowing sand/debris
using low frequencies and tomography techniques. Change
detection (e.g. finding disturbed earth or emplaced
objects) can be collected and analyzed over repeated
flight path intervals. Communications, power, and
command wire lines also show up clearly in spotlight SAR
images. Data processed on-board is generated in STANAG
4545 (SAR) data compliant standard format enhancing
interoperability with user ground stations, analysis
tools, and C2 applications supporting a common
operational picture. microRAPTOR’s flexible multi-band
architecture provides real-time wide area GMTI and high
resolution imagery products to the warfighter. The
microRAPTOR equipped UAS will greatly increases the
effectiveness and timeliness of Intelligence,
Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) information at
the Tactical Edge. |
