In its commitment to
developing secure communications and military information
technology, Trident has developed
a secure wireless extension for NTDPS by using Laptops, Tablets,
and PDAs to provide watch-standers with a lightweight and mobile
connection to the ship's intranet. Doing so allows data to be
entered at the point of collection to save time. WNTDPS also
builds on NTDPS by enhancing information distribution,
watch-stander, training, maintenance, and combat support
functions. As an example, a watch-stander today needs to write
data in a paper log for later entry into NTDPS. WNTDPS will
reduce this process by allowing the watch-stander to enter the
data into NTDPS at the point of collection and make the data
immediately available to those that need it most. |
